Mark: I just turned it on, so you're okay. Let me prep this by saying, uh, I was just telling James. James is the first guy I ever told I actually watch the soap operas only CBS. It was so bad because Agim, I don't watch As The World Turns so I felt bad but I know about you guys totally so this is big deal for me. So thank you for helping me out in doing this.
Mark: You know, you've - Guiding Light went to, uh, Mississippi to help with the recovery the efforts and that sort of thing. How was it to get to do that and meet these people?
Marcy: This year is our 70th Anniversary. So we kicked it off going to New Orleans to build new homes and since then we've actually went to a different city every month to - we're promoting volunteerism. But the New Orleans' thing in particular was just eye opening. There's so much that still needs to be done there that we have no idea and there is so many organizations down there that are working that you can go down for like the weekend and go help build a house. People don't realize that anybody can go! And so - I had no idea how much help they needed so it was really eye opening and it was sad. But I thought it was going to be a really a sad experience and you know, but it wasn't. Because the people that are from there, for the most part, stayed and they are rebuilding their community and there is a spirit and a, uh, like a love and positive outlook from these people that when we down there I thought okay this is going to be so sad and really intense and it was really intense but you just fell in love with the city and with the people and you know that they're gonna be okay because these people are sticking it out, they are going to rebuild their homes so it was a wonderful experience, it was great. And the food is really good there! Uh, go to New Orleans and eat! Even if you don't want to go and volunteer, just go and eat! Because it's ready - it's ready for, although a lot still needs to be done there are a lot of areas that are ready for tourists to come so you can go and see a show and stay for the weekend and if nothing else, you know go eat. It's really good. But you know, it's been amazing, it's great. And we got to meet the families who's home we were rebuilding and that was the best part. At the end, it was so home make over, you know it definitely was! And the before and after was insane and can I still you a little story about it? And then I'll shut up. Um, it was, this kinda sums up the whole thing. It was very home make over. You know, we came down we build these homes we decorated them the families came in and they were really excited. In our house we had a little 11 year old girl and she got the coolest room you could ever want. Ever. We're all like, she got an ipod! And she got all this and we were all like this girl's head is gonna explode this is the greatest room ever. And she walked in and just started crying and she sat down on the floor and cried and cried and cried. And that's when we realized, we got all caught up in the decorating and stuff, and that these people haven't had a home and she hasn't had a bed you know since it happened. And we really, I know, changed that little girl's life. And so it was great. It puts everything into perspective.
Some Woman: I just need to jump in, sorry, Marcy has just like one more question because she has to go do the dance contest
Mark: Oh! Right, Right
Marcy: Well, that's good because I just talked a lot and you can put pretend questions in between there and make those answers [laughing]
Mark: Okay, umm
Marcy: [laughing]
Some woman: Sorry!
Mark: Oh no, that's okay. Um, okay, I guess I'll go with this one. I came across that you have a thing for Llamas. Do you wanna…
Marcy: Did you hear me!? Did you hear it!? I told you I would be talking about llamas for the rest of my life! I do love llamas. I do! No, I love it. I think you should totally go with the llamas. We were having a llama discussion earlier. Okay, I said, I was like you talk about a llama one day and there is going to be a llama tied to the front CBS building one day with my name on it [laughing]. I grew up across the street from a llama farm and they don't really do much. They have big teeth and they are really cute and I would like to own one some day. I just started, shut up!, I just started knitting and crocheting and you can shave them and make it into yarn which is what I've learned about the llamas. So I want to have some llamas who I intend to shave and knit with. And you talk about a llama one day and it's like weird or something. Yeah, I love llamas. And no one give me a llama! I'm not ready for the llama, okay! I'm really scared there is going to be a llama some day at the building and it won't fit in my apartment and I'm not ready. You know, in a couple years.
Mark: Um, okay! Sure, real quick. You know Tom Pelphrey was just back on the show, um, is, so yeah - what's it like working with him?
Marcy: You know, I don't know what it's like working with him. I was just the mother of his child, he comes back on the show and do I see him? No! No, I don't. I didn't work with him, it was great! Um, he kidnapped my baby and faked their deaths and I still think that they are dead. So, he came back and now the rest of Springfield knows that he's not dead, she's not dead and I'm still crying! So that's how I feel about Tom Pelphrey coming back. So if someone could tell me that my baby is not dead, that would really improve my life. But um yeah, I didn't get to work with him. It was really sad but in all seriousness, working with him and doing the story line was great. I came onto the show and went right into their story line and couldn't have asked for better actors or more supportive actors. Tom and I developed a very brother/sister relationship and we tortured each other a lot. And I would like to put on the record that we played about 10 hours of Tetris and I beat him and I just want that out there into the world. But yeah, he's great. He's really talented and good heart. Him and Stephanie Gatschet really welcomed me with open arms.
Some Guy: How old is Tom?
Marcy: 24 or 25, I think? Something like that. I was just informed that he looks like a man. He's like my brother and he's so irritating. So for someone, I actually did like a play reading with them, said no he looks like a man now. I was like what? Ew, no he doesn't and I looked at him and was like oh I guess he does.
